The pizza was good and I'm not usually a thin crust girl. I had the margerita and it had the correct sauce to cheese ratio!! The only disappointing item was the French fries, but should I expect great ones from a pizza place The outdoor seating is the perfect place to people watch!!

This is NOT Italian food! Their pastas are very very bad but the pizzas are ok, I guess this is why I'm giving this place 2 stars. The service is good and they have some great "beat the clock" deals. I would say that this is way better than going to any pizza chain like dominos or pizza hut (gross!). So, yes... I would recommend it if you're looking to grab a quick and cheap pizza, just don't expect a gourmet meal if you order something else.

This is a regular hangout for us. One of several favorites. We make sure it is a Wednesday visit to take advantage of the daily early bird special plus the 1/2 price wine special. Usually we take 1/2 our meal home. The owner, Julio and his staff of Marta and Ferney make us feel welcome. Good food at reasonable prices. Great combo.

Love the pizza here! It's so cheap and shareable. Everything is fresh and the service is amazing. My favorite pizzas tend to be simple, but whenever I try something new I am happy I did.

Good Italian food in coral gables . Everything we had was really good including the calamari, the margarita pizza, the fettuccine with meat sauce . And the dessert is to die got the chocolate calzone with ice cream is a must try if you have room for dessert .

I was here twice and wasn't disappointed. The veggie pizza is fantastic and you don't feel guilty:). The creme brûlée is OMG and also the servers are nice.

Inconsistent and disorganized service and food. Some things were great- spinach salad and ravioli are both yummy. Pizza was a whole wheat veggie mess, soggy and hard to eat. Ordered some extra sauce which helped. Prices not cheap but its Coral Gables. Would I go back? Yes, but not in any hurry.

Spritz is one of my favorite restaurants in the Gables. Love the friendly staff and delicious food. I've had salads, meats, pastas and pizzas and they have always exceeded my expectations. My favorite pizza is the "Parma Brie è carcioffi" (prosciutto, Brie and artichokes) because it's such a cool combination of flavors. The gnocchi here are the bestest, especially with the 4 cheese sauce!

Just had my first meal at Spritz. A $10-$20 price range. Host seated us rapidly but servers were not on point. Recommendations favored more expensive items and portions were much heavier than suggested. No worries, managed to take a great meal home. Tried the pizza diavalo (pepperoni) as well as a pesto-chicken one. Herbs were rather weak and not as emphatic as described on the menu. Absent waiters caused us to get up and locate the crushed red pepper bottles ourselves. Despite the hiccups in service, this restaurant is a must-visit. The ambience is exactly what someone heading to a classy Italian restaurant would fancy. Definitely one o' the more desirable eateries off Miracle Mile. Looking forward to updating this review after the servers fix up their game!

Pretty sneaky business practices. I went yesterday for the beat the clock special but when my bill came, I had been charged full price for my pizza. The reason? I shared my pizza with my child. The waitress pointed out in tiny letters that to get the special, you can't share. Absolutely ridiculous. Fine, I should have asked, or read better - but also, they could have made an exception since my child only had ONE SLICE. I obviously won't return.

The food is exquisite. But they need to work On their service skills. The servers are talking on the podium like back at thei home Patio.. Blah blah blah.. And u cant concentrate in your own conversation. They are rude and have no Manners.

We came here during Dining Under the Stars. We called on the day of to make reservations, and were told they only had inside seating. That was fine, given how late we delayed to make our reservations. We arrived at 7:45 for our 8pm reservations- the man, who appeared to be the manager, had the reservation list. He showed us he'd already seated a party of 2 with the same name, and skeptically looked at us. It is apparently unheard of for two people to have the same name. There were several empty tables, so he did seat us, but it was all just awkward. Once seated, our table was about 2 inches from the table next to us. We were in each other's conversations the entire meal. I'm not sure if tables are always this close, or just for special events- but not exactly a romantic feel to it. Our server appeared 2-3 minutes after we got our menus, asking us to order, by saying, "Are you ready? What do you want?" We obviously were not ready. We ordered drinks from the limited drink menu (there are more wine bottle options, very limited glass options, and some generic beer options). We started with the calamari, which was delicious. Our entrees came out before we were even half done with our appetizer, which is poor timing. My husband's lasagna was very tasty but extremely cheesy. My gnocchi was not good. It was larger, denser and heavier than gnocchi should be and flavorless. Perhaps I should've ordered it with a different sauce, but the alfredo sauce was bland. Our server never asked if we wanted another round of drinks, came to ask how the food was, or refilled our waters. We had to flag her down just to get the check. I would venture to guess this place may be better on nights that aren't special events, or less busy times, but I wouldn't put my money on it.

We literally just finished one of those meals that makes you want to tell everyone how amazing it was as soon as possible. We picked up takeout and ordered the Campagna Pizza with with added Prosciutto. The combination of the prosciutto, goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes and artichokes was an explosion of flavors that had me saying it's the BEST PIZZA I've had in recent memory. The flavors were not overpowering and I HIGHLY recommend the Campagna Pizza to anyone... don't forget to add that Prosciutto though.

I don't know what the food tastes like because I walked out. I was seated right away but then waited 5-10 minutes with no one in the restaurant taking my order or acknowledging me in any way. It wasn't that busy - plenty of open seats. Servers walked by me several times and didn't look my way so I just got up and left after a while. At least say "I'll be right with you" at some point. Food / menu looked ok but plenty of excellent restaurant choices within walking distance. Based on some other reviews it doesn't seem like a place with a reputation for great service. I don't see a reason to go back.

Went to the restaurant this past Saturday on a date with my guy, and would say the overall experience was average, but it ultimately got the job done (feeding us good food at a fairly decent price and getting us out of there in time for our movie). That being said, there were some areas that need smoothing out. I'm not sure how old the restaurant has been under the new ownership, as I recall going to the former Spris (now Spritz) not so long ago, but my hope is that they will continue to improve and get better and better as time goes on. Here are the good and bad points of our recent experience: Good: When we got in, we were sat very quickly. Bad: Once we were sat, the server did not come to our table to greet us for at least ten minutes, as she first served another table that was sat after we were. There seemed to be no real rhyme or reason to their service methods. Good: I ordered Malbec by the glass which at $8 a glass was really good! My boyfriend liked his Tempranillo by the glass as well. Bad: The waitress couldn't remember which wine was which so originally I was served my boyfriend's Tempranillo. Good: The menu offered a nice selection of antipasti, salads, pastas, and second courses. Bad: Our main reason for choosing the restaurant was for a special that they had advertised on the Shop Coral Gables website which was that you could get an app, two entrees, and wine for $59. When we arrived they had a specific menu you had to choose from to receive the special which had been upped to $80, so we just ordered off the regular menu. Good: The Arugula salad we ordered was really good and the ingredients were fresh. They offered us two plates so we could share it. Bad: When we were finished with the salad, the bus boy left the dirty forks for us to use for our next course (though he did bring new ones once requested). Good: The main courses we ordered, Lemon Chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies and Pizza, were both really good. They had great flavor and were served hot, though there was nothing specifically gourmet or unique about them...just good ole Italian food. The portions were large enough that we took home left overs and were able to get a second meal out of it the following day. Price: For one shared salad, two entrees, and two glasses of wine we paid $70 including tip, which is what we what we had expected to pay for the special that had originally brought us in, so it worked out in the end, and we got to order exactly what we wanted. Timing: We had a movie to catch afterwards, and were able to get in and out in an hour, on a busy Sat night so despite the service hiccups at the beginning, they made up for it by getting us fed and on our way in a reasonable amount of time. Ambiance: We were seated really close to two other tables, one on our right and one our left. So there was not much privacy, but the place was cozy enough and comfortable, and not too loud so you could hear the person sitting across from you which is a plus! Tips: Recommend if you are going in for a special, to call ahead and get the details by phone since they may have been changed since the original ad went out.

Came here for dinner. Place is a small hole in the wall. Air conditioning was not working. Ordered misa salad and pizza. Salad dressing was too thick. Pizza was thin crust and greasy. There are way too many choices in this area to return.

Amazing pizza! The service was spectacular since we were seated quick and attended to. The pizza did take some time to come out but that says something about the quality. The atmosphere wasn't overly loud and it wasn't crowded either.

Fantastic, I've been coming here since I was a little kid and have always loved it. The staff and I are now on a first name basis, they know my regular orders, this is basically a great place. A few years ago for my mothers birthday I organized a surprise lunch with family here, and it was great! Now I've always mostly had the Margherita Pizza because I used to be a super picky eater, but in the past few years my tastes here have expanded, and I've grown to love their whole wheat pizzas, penne a la vodka, and much more. Now a thing about this place you've got to remember is their beat the clock special, come from something around 4:30 to 6:30 you pay for the time you get there. Get there at 5:45? You're pizza is $5.45. So it's especially great for lunch. All in all, I am in love with this place, so come as soon as you can.

We love Spris and we have been customers for many years. Spris is hands down our favorite place for delicious, simple, unpretentious, and perfectly cooked pasta in Miami. Rigatoni Papalina is also our favorite. I never change. I rarely change when I find a dish I really like. I browse the menu, but always ordered the same. It's that good. Rigatoni cooked al dente and prepared in pink sauce with prosciutto bits, sweet peas, and mushrooms. This combination packs a flavor punch. Even the sauce by itself is great. I always clean my plate dry. The carpaccio with avocado, hearts of palm, greens, and shaved Parmigiano is another favorite. Pizzas are always excellent, and definitely recommend sharing them. They are best onsite, but you may carry-out too.

Spris? Spritz? Which one is it? I guess spris means Spritz in Italian. Idk I think I failed my Italian class.....Anyway, first time here. We really liked their pizza! We ordered a half cheese half pepperoni pizza and a prosciutto, Arugula pizza. They were both delicious. Not greasy, not doughy, not too hot, fresh ingredients,,,,, it was just perfect! The only complaint is that the pizzas are too small. Two pizzas were almost not enough for 3 adults. We had 2 slices left over only because we were all being too polite to hog it all up. Total for 2 pizzas was $28. Maybe a little pricey for 2 small pizzas but still, I will be back!!

Friendly and attentive service from Martha, my server. Sat outside with my dog, for a late lunch. The prosciutto mozzarella sandwich was ok. The bread was good but the rest of the sandwich lacked flavor. I would not order it again. The creme brulee was very good.

The saltimbocca di prosciutto is one of my favorite sandwiches of all time. Layered inside the pizza-like panini crust with crispy cheese baked on the outside you will find prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato and arugula. Seriously, try it!

We came to Spritz for the Monday and Tuesday deal they have of $10.95 for any pizza on the menu and a draft beer or glass of house wine. We debated going to Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza, but I had seen this little local spot a thousand times without going in and wanted to try something that wasn't a chain. The pizza was fresh with light crispy chewy dough that tasted homemade. The vegetarian pizza was amazing loaded with fresh veggies like broccoli, thinly sliced red onions, mushrooms, and more. Our server was prompt and seemed willing to help us. I enjoyed the small dining room decorated with black and white pictures from Italy and cobalt blue Saratoga water bottles filled with bright yellow sunflowers. We watched the chef pull our pizzas right out of the massive oven painted like a can of Pomodoro and it was brought immediately to our table. The pizzas were HUGE and it was certainly a good price point. We will undoubtedly be back here for the fresh pizza and low prices. I look forward to trying some of their other menu items as well.

Our favorite pizza in Miami by far!!! If you go here you go for the brick oven pizza that's it. Italians go here and love it so that should say a lot about their pizza. The location is great, so when it's not too hot, sitting outside people watching makes the experience even better. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We order the pizza for carry out an they are usually ready in less than 20 min if they are not too busy. Highly recommend.

Formerly called Spris, the owner changed the name when he ended their partnership with the Spris in South Beach. The food here is always delicious, especially the thin crust pizza which they cook in their wood burning oven (which is shaped like a large can of tomato sauce. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a more laid back Italian restaurant or is looking for authentic Italian thin crust pizza!

I returned to Spritz after having enjoyed a delicious pizza here last week to take advantage of their Monday night special - any pizza on the menu and a beer, wine or soda for $10.95. Service was slow and lacking but food was great, so no biggie - I wasn't in a rush. When the check came, they didn't apply the special price so I pointed it out to the waitress. She told me they couldn't honor it because I had added a topping to my pizza. The special says "no substitutions", however, I hadn't substituted anything - I had added a topping and was happy to pay the $2 additional charge. She went to confer with the manager and came back to tell me there was nothing she could do, so I asked to speak to the manager so I could explain that I'm a repeat customer, willing to pay for the topping, etc. etc. The waitress returned and told me the manager said there was nothing to discuss and that he wasn't coming to speak to me - the price was final. I was beyond shocked and expressed that to her, to which she suggested that I could go speak to him if I wanted as he was seated at a table in the back of the restaurant. Clearly, no one has explained to these folks the meaning of customer service. Such a shame. Fortunately, it's not too hard to find delicious pizza and pasta in Miami so needless I say, I won't be returning here.

In my opinion this is the best casual Italian joint in downtown Coral Gables. They have the perfect balance of friendly ambiance, fair price, good service and delicious food. I've been going there for years and every meal has been great. The pizza is by far the best in the area, I recommend the Fiorentina, but my favorite plate, which I highly recommend is the Fiochi with Pear and Gorgonzola. It is phenomenal! It is not on the lunch menu, but they'll serve it to you if you ask for it.

Went to SPRIS for a birthday dinner. The place is small but dont let that dissuade you from eating here. To start, we had a glass of wine and bread with olive oil and balsamic vinager. Yum Yum in my tum tum. I then had a slice of cheese pizza. Pizza is one of those things that even when its bad its still pretty good. But, this is no ordinary pizza. The crust is very thin and crispy, and the amount of cheese was just right. It also wasnt greasy, which is always a good thing! After cheese pizza, came pepperoni. The pepperoni was spicy, and God knows I LOVE me some spice! I was totally blown away by this pizza. The crust again was thin and crispy, and the pepperoni was so flavourful and delicious. I definetely recommend, even if you arent a pepperoni fan (im usually not). The service was great, we were a huge group but my glass was never empty. The servers were very attentive and very polite.

Went to Spris for a friends birthday dinner and figured, how good could this pizza the Yelper's are raving about possibly be. They didn't steer me wrong. The pizzas (all 3) were perfection. - Cheese - Just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The crust is what makes it special. So think, so crispy, so ...perfect? Added a little parmesian on there for good measure. - Pepperoni- Not really a fan of pepperoni but man...a few slices of this quite possibly changed my mind. The pepperoni was spicy and that little kick I have never gotten from the chain pizza places (or smaller places for that matter). It was great. - Hawaiian - THE BEST of the three. Had some people in the group who had never had Hawaiian and I beleive they will convert over to the delicious salty/sweet taste the pizza offers. The ham was in long strips and had just the perfect amount of pineapple. I had some wine (don't remember the name) while we nibbled on bread and bruschetta and then 2 Peronni's with the pizza. Awesome dinner with good friends, AMAZING SERVICE (no really, it was about 20 of us, and the entire staff was on top of everything, and super duper polite.) and best of all a couple of slices of heaven :)

We cam here and ordered dinner during Beat the Clock. We ordered 2 pizzas, spaghetti and beer. We brought our 3 yr old daughter along for a family dinner at 5:45 pm... hardly a peak dining time for a Saturday night. The spaghetti was brought out first and our daughter ate her dinner. We waited another 10 minutes for the pizzas to come out. We each ate half our pizza and then our daughter told us she was tired and wanted to go home. We asked to have the rest our meal taken home in a doggie bag. Bringing our food to us, the server warned me "Don't do this again." She then pointed to the menu which clearly stated there was no "To go" with Beat the Clock special. I think "To go" is walking in, ordering, and leaving with the food... like when you go to McD's and they say "for here or to go?"... "to go" means you are not eating in the restaurant. That is not what happened.. we ate, had a beer, and then had a sleepy 3 yr old that wanted to go home and so we asked for a doggie bag. Is Spritz planning to serve the rest of our food to someone else? If not, then why can't we take it with us? I understand no "to go" since it means that you don't order drinks, tip the server, etc. That is not what happened. The menu should say "No takeout and no doggie bags" if that's what they mean. Or they should discontinue the special if they don't make money on it. Threatening customers with "Don't do this again" is no way to run a restaurant. We won't be back.

I hadn't been here in ages, we came for dinner on a whim and was reminded how good the pizza here is. I went with the intentions of just having the beef carpaccio, which was fantastic and ended up trying the pizza my sister and husband were sharing...prosciutto, artichoke and brie. It was amazing. You can't go wrong here if you're simply looking for good food. Would I come here if I'm a tourist looking for something unique to Miami? Probably not....unless you try the one on Lincoln Road...this is definitely more of a local's place. The decor/ambiance isn't really my favorite, its a little cheesy Italian, no pun intended, so if you care about that type of stuff, then go to Harry's Pizzeria in the Design District or Lucali on the beach...

The food at the Spris restaurant in Coral Gables is good--with the exception of the bread. The service is ok. I've gone there a number of times and the servers only speak English if they have to. Also, they have a deal where if you get a pizza on the menu plus a draft beer for $10.95. If you take advantage of this, make sure you look at your check at the end because they will charge you full price if you don't catch them. Be careful with the lasagna, because I recently ordered it and got a tasty lasagna with a piece of cellophane inside of it. Overall, an ok restaurant with very good pizza. Don't go there with high hopes--especially if you don't speak Spanish.

Let me first say that the food is pretty good. Now that I got that out of the way I will get into the real facts you need to know about this place. We made a reservation to be specifically near a block party that was going on at the time with live music. When we arrived, they did not have our table ready, then after 10 minutes they had a table ready in an area completely away from where we requested. Our reservation was at 8 pm and we were not seated until 840 away from where we wanted to be after we were assured that location and we were told by the manager that we would be seated soon. Once we sat down, we didn't get water until after our appetizer and our appetizer didn't come until about 940. Members of my party were forced to get up several times to go and physically approach our waiter in order to be recognized and bring us normal things like water, our drink orders and our appetizers. We had to get up and order anything directly from the waiter inside because they refused to acknowledge us and did not give us any attention. Needless to say we were ignored on countless occasions, and then when we finally asked for the bill we were told that we had to pay cash and their credit card program was not working. We told them we did not have cash and they told us we had to split credit cards the way they described it and not in the manner we wanted to. When I asked for the manager that we had spoken to before, it took another 10 minutes. When the manager came out, he acted like nothing had happened. I told him we were very displeased with the service and that we were ignored the whole night. It was now around 11 pm. After interrupting me several times he told me he would comp our coffees which included 2 espressos (at a table of 10 people!) we had ordered several bottles of wine and rang up a large tab at an affordable and small restaurant. The manager asked me what I wanted him to do in an extremely smug manner and I told him to be more respectful and treat us the way a manager of a restaurant should treat his patrons under our circumstances. He walked away and refused to comp anything else. I know this is a long review but it is my first and I am seldom offended or angered by service. This was an absolute outrage and our entire party was offended and disrespected. I hope they learn their lesson as I said the food was pretty good but they have a long way to go with service.

This is the best pizza joint in Coral Gables But not only their pizza is the best, All the pasta dishes are outstanding. We are such regulars that the owner makes us any dish that we asked them to ( when not so busy ). Help me Persuade the owner to make pizza with guava please !

This is pretty much our go-to place every Friday. I say every Friday cause it's a family ritual for us to try and have pizza every Friday together. Julio is the restaurant manager, and you'll catch them there almost EVERY night. By far, one of the most attentive restaurant managers I know. Very detail orientated. Service here is always great, and I may be bias in this aspect mainly because I know most of all the employees. The quality of the food is great. We normally go low key and pick something simple, but if you're daring they got some odd mixes. I also enjoy their tiramisu after scarfing down the whole pie. Don't miss out on this gem.

What a piece of crap! The only thing they have going for them is that the pizza actually taste good. As misleading as it may be this store has no affiliation with the one on Lincoln Road mall. Their beat the clock happy hour makes you purchase one pizza per person even with children. While it is still a good deal it is silly to have to buy an entire pie for a five-year-old. The service was mediocre to say the least. It seem like a daunting task for us to even get a glass of water!!!! At the end of the day they even double charged my credit card. Upon calling the location I was ensured a manager will call me back. It has been over 24 hours and I have heard from no one. The looks on the waiters face were priceless as if they were being forced to be there. Overall it was a horrible experience. I will never be taking my family there again. Definitely go to Lincoln Road... The REAL SPRIS! If you notice the Gables location is actually named Spritz and it's obvious why... They are simply just a bad imitation.

Let's start with the warm, chewy, delicious bread they bring out to start. Yummy! We shared a salad and a pizza and both were great! Food came out quickly. The pizza was perfectly cooked and had just the right amount of toppings. The salad was fresh and crunchy and had the perfect amount of dressing. It wasn't soaked in dressing which was awesome. Glasses always stayed filled. Staff was quick and friendly. Location was small but nice. Clean and well put together.

In my opinion, this is the best pizza in Miami. The crust is always perfectly thin and crispy and the pizza toppings never disappoint! AND there's a new location in the Gables, which is great for people who may not want to fight the crowds at South Beach.

My co-worker and I were walking en route to another place for lunch, when he suggested we stop here instead. I'm all about trying new places, so I agreed. We were seated immediately and thankfully the lunch menu prices were quite reasonable. I love pizza (probably more than most people), but I decided to be a little different and try the calzone, while my co-worker ordered the pizza. I read another review that said the calzone looked like something out of the Flinstones. I had to laugh when I read that, because it's an accurate portrayal - that this is huge (that's what she said). The crust is quite thin, just like their pizzas, and it was just absolutely delicious. I ate half and took the rest to go... and ate the rest of it for lunch the next day. I didn't expect it to reheat too well but I was surprised at how delicious it was even the next day. I reheated it first in the microwave, then finished it off in the toaster oven, and it was quite good. If their pizzas are half as good as they looked, I will definitely be back to try that the next time. Glad it's so close to work!

There isn't I can say about Spris that hasn't already been said. The pizza is very high quality and delicious and the service is as good as can be. I think it would hard to be disappointed with this place. My only complaint would be the limited beer selection.

Went here last night with friends and family. Not by chance, I'd narrowed it down with yelp reviews. It lived up to its billing. The head waiter's service was masterful. Made everyone feel instantly welcome and comfortable with his subtle actions, the little smile, the nod. You don't come across someone that good very often. I noticed he treated all customers very well. Just an absolute pro. Food was quite good as well. Calamari was light, non-oily. Bread was fine. Salad tasted very fresh. My wife liked it and she's especially picky on salads. Ravioli was good, my son and I both had it. Others had pizza and spaghetti. I tried the pizza and it was excellent. A great experience.

One of our favorite pizza spots in Miami! My family and I have been regulars here for years. They have an awesome special on Mondays and Tuesdays; $10.95 for a pizza and a glass of house wine or draft beer. I love this place and highly recommend it! :)

I've only had their pizza, so I can't comment on their other dishes. The service I've experienced at dinner time has been pretty good, and the restaurant is very comfortable, but, unfortunately, the pizza is not particularly good.

I appreciate the energy of the place but the pizza just didn't do it for me. I first ordered a misa salad but had to send it back because it tasted awful. In lieu of the misa salad I ordered a caesar, it was ok but kind of limp looking. PIzzas were topped with fresh ingredients but the crus had no wow factor. Not a bad place but in no hurry to go back.

I really had high hopes for this place given the raving comments my boyfriend had to say about the food. Can't say I was all that impressed. He ordered the Saltimbocca del Fronte and I ordered a simple cheese pizza with spicy salami (the Diavola). At the moment I took my first bite, I was initially in love with their pizza but that was likely to be my hangover doing the judging. After I ate a few more bites I realized there was really nothing mind blowing about the pizza. The cheese was good, but I have had better pizza. I also had some of my boyfriend's sandwich, which I agree was very good. The cheese and balsalmic dressing really make it. So I guess I should have just ordered what he had. Although I'd like to try out one of their other dishes, the service was really slow. We had to wait far too long to get our order in, refills, and the bill. Originally I wanted to sit outside because the weather was perfect, but with the slow service I'm really glad we didn't. Pretty sure the wait is about twice as long for outside customers. If you don't mind waiting a really long time to be serviced and enjoy mediocre pizza, then Spris is right up your alley.

I love Spritz! It's just walking distance from my apt. Have tried their pizza which is delicious and crispy and fresh, have tried their lobster stuffed ravioli which were divine and their chicken lasagna is plate licking good. The service is awesome, quick and friendly.

I love going to Spris in Coral Gables. Service is very friendly and I love their pizza. For me, the Prosciutto and Funghi is just delicious. They make their pizzas thin and crunchy. Prices are decent, but seating is quite limited.

The kind (and awesome) chef gave us complimentary bruschetta - that was delicious. Calamari was well made. Sandwiches here come stuffed in pizza bread - and that got good reviews from friends. I went for the entree - sea bass with mussels and mashed potatoes. That was yummy, especially with the sauce. The friendly and cheery service - biiiig kudos to the waitress Sarah, she made our day! NOTE: 15% tip is included in the bill.

Although I die for the Spris on Lincoln Road the one in the gables really let me down. Besides the Beat the Clock concept which is genius, the service the night I went was not very bueno. I can understand that the restaurant was pretty busy, but honestly an hour wait for a pizza and a plate of pasta is pretty ridiculous. I'm not one to complain about long wait times, but this was not acceptable. The waiter wasn't even there half the time and didn't even refill our water. The food was great as usual, but after waiting for so long I didn't even want to eat anymore. I had the chicken a la vodka pasta and the bf had the Diavola pizza which was great as well. Besides the food taking forever the bread was rock solid. The management should really try to step it up and learn from the original Spris on Lincoln. That place is always nonstop and I've always had pretty good service there.

Spris overall is really good. They have this amazing deal during the week that is call " Beat the clock". Basically if you get there at 6:03pm your pizza will cost $6.03. Service is superior. Yamir was the waiter for a party I hosted recently and he was on top of the service. Julio was the man in charge and he made sure that my party was pleased in every way.

Good !! fairly authentic Italian place. Truly enjoyed their pizza and sitting outside enjoying a good bottle of Chianti definitely makes it for good dining experience. I must admit that there is a bit of an issue with the service when they are busy, and this is inexcusable, especially during these trying times where they have the opportunity to shine and wow us with good service. Overall, they still deserve the 4 stars, because of a good menu, good food and good location. Hopefully we will see improvement in the service soon.

Spris, my how you've dissapointed me!! We had not been to Spris in a while. A LONG while. Nevertheless, we were completely taken aback by what we experienced last Friday night. First of all, it was empty at 10 p.m. They don't close until 11:30 p.m. Still, on a Friday night, it was very strange. The bruschetta was not up to par. The bread seemed stale. It was just not good. The pizza was ok but their best. And the creme brulee was about half the size it used to be and not very thick. I will give them one more chance because we know what Spris was like but probably not for a while. I'm sorry Spris, I think I shall look for a replacement for our Italian cuisine experiences!

Well, I liked it. It was a relief to find an Italian pizza joint like this one in the area I was staying. The pizza was Italian style with fresh mozzarela and the gnocchi tasted fresh and tender. (you can visualize them in my photos) I liked both very much. The service was okay, nothing special, but the food was pretty good.

Had the Fettucine Alfredo for the 1st time & loved it. (What don't I love here?) The dish was huge & turned into 2.5 meals; the sauce wasn't too heavy. Only complaint today was that I got in just before the lunch rush, but I still feel like service was a bit slow for my time constraints that day. The take-out that I ordered for my co-workers smelled heavenly though; I'll be sure to check out the pollo al limone next time!

Every time I eat at Spris, I grow a brand new pube. This is my favorite pizza. That's no exaggeration, my friends, it's my favorite pizza in the world. I don't know if the oil they use contains traces of heroin and Sofia Vergara's placental fluid, but it's the best damn grease legally available. Everyone has a place they love that sometimes disappoints them, even if it's something slight like the chef going through a rough divorce so instead of preparing your food with love he does so with agony and marital infidelity. This is not the case with Spris, all of their chefs' marriages are stable. I dine at Spris semi-regularly, however not regularly enough so that I tire of the pizza. That's pretty much all I eat there, by the way, the pizza. Everything else could be made of Ashley Simpson's lack of talent for all I care. I believe I tried something else there once when I was vetting my best friend's ex to make sure she wouldn't break his heart (she fooled me!) and I still haven't forgiven myself for sacrificing my love of their pizza for an attempt at variety. Never again, mouth, never again. A complaint is always necessary, and I happen to have one handy. They serve no Guinness. They serve some shitty domestic crap and Moretti. The Italians are not well-known for their beer brewing. There's a reason why: Because Italian beer tastes like watching Jersey Shore. "Uggggggghhhhhhhhhh. *facepalm*" I'm sure they have a good wine selection, but I wouldn't know because anyone who eats pizza with wine is a savage. A SAVAGE. I don't care how Italian the dish is. If you've never tried pizza and beer together you're missing out on the second best combination in existence. The first best combination is something I'm keeping to myself. Their wait staff is pretty typical of Italian eateries. They're pleasant and don't linger around while getting in your face asking the same "is everything going well" that translates into "this should increase my tip by at least 2%." I prefer the Italian way. They give you some bread which is remarkably good. One time I asked my waiter if that bread was the body of Christ and he laughed a little too hard at it. He must've been an atheist or a Scientologist. Note to the Scientologists: Please don't sue me for that comment. Cruise is a fine actor and silent births aren't at all weird. All praise Hubbard. Anyway, moving on. Oh, wait, I just realized how relevant it was to include Scientology in this review since this Spris is on the same block as the Cult of Scientology office in Miracle Mile. This makes things convenient. Now you can have yourself a slice of pizza while you cleanse thetans. Win-motherfuckin-win. Spris: The Pizza of the Gods. Try this place out if you haven't. Tell them Xenu sent you. With all these Scientology comments I wouldn't be surprised if fucking Travolta shows up at my door with his damn brochures. PEOPLE WHO WOULD ENJOY IT: Every human being with functioning taste buds. PEOPLE WHO WOULD NOT ENJOY IT: Xenu, because HE NEVER FUCKING EXISTED.

What a pleasant surprise, I went into Spris today for lunch, ordered a panini and gobbled that thing up! It was 3 ingredients, mozzarella, pesto and tomato and it was a really yummy and satisfying sandwich and I was genuinely impressed by this fact. I've just found Spris to be another meh restaurant, their menu had been filled with disappointment in the past. Today was different! My lunch buddy gobbled down her warm shrimp salad, so I'm guessing she felt about the same as I did. I had never been a HUGE fan, the service can be a bit slow, but if another dish can make me as happy as the panini then I just may become a regular.

This is a nice quaint establishment in the very trendy Coral Gables area. First impression... crammed! Although once I sat down it was fine. Next... the time it took for me to place and receive my order was too long (roughly 30min). I don't know if that's just me being spoiled (by the fast paced service industry in NYC) or if it really is a long time to wait during a limited lunch time window. You decide. THE SERVICE otherwise was average (pleasant wait staff and fairly attentive). Last... I ordered a Genovese Pizza. The first bite didn't wow me. Actually, sort of disappointed me. HOWEVER... as I ate more it began to improve significantly in taste. by the end of the meal I was content. I especially favored the thin crust and the fresh mozz! WOULD I RETURN? Yes. The prices were fair and it seams to have a nice variety of Italian meals I would like to partake in.

The night was a little rainy and the traffic was not helpong at all. Rollin with my homies Tom and Vane we were on a mission to find some food...italian food... Having limited time was not helping either since we had tickets to go and see Joan Jett at 8pm. Then poof....since we were by the gables this lil place came into Vanes head and we headed over. Parking was a sinch and the place was kinda full but we were sat immediately. MAjor brownie points there. Funny thing is that i had worked in the gables for YEARS and never came here...ever...lol... I ordered some Chicken fettuccini alfredo and really enjoyed it. The service was on point and the food was great. No complaints there. Our waiter was very efficient and our food took just enough time so it doesnt look like they already have it made...lol. So to sum things up...we were out and done with dinner and on our way to rock on!!! Will i come here again? Yes...only one complaint was that they included the tip in the bill...and we were only 3 people...other than that. Nom Nom Nom : )

I was so excited for my first trip to Florida. I went to visit family in Miramar and was taken to have dinner at this place on my first night. Usually I don't like to eat to much before going out to a club because I feel sluggish and tired but everything we ordered was SO GOOD that I couldn't help but pig out. We ordered appetizers, a few different plates(sorry can't remember exact names) to share and then dessert, which is what's most vivid in my head. The nutellino!!!!!!!!! The food was awesome and the service was as well, I mentioned to the waiter I was visiting from Cali and a few minutes later the owner came out to say hello and welcome me to Florida. Small touches like that are what makes people keep coming back to a place. Overall my experience there was 5 stars, so much so that I was in Miami for 10 days and ate there 3 times. I loved it and I can't wait for my next trip, this will be my first stop, 1 nutellino please!

I love Spris ~ Be it in the Gables or LR... but I come to the one in the Gables more often, than LR - so this is the one getting reviewed now. Really I've never gone wrong at this place - Ever. I've shared dishes of pizza and salad, pastas, anything - always good. My favorite is to order the avocado/hearts of palm carpaccio as an entree. I cut it all up (like you're not supposed to) and it actually turns into a fairly sized salad. Add some parmessan, olive oil & balsamic vinegar and you're set! Finish off your lunch with a delicious nutella calzone and you will find yourself in heaven ~ mm, mm good!

Cold lasagna means only one thing: reheated lasagna gone wrong!!! My family and I went for pizzas but I wanted something different so I choose lasagna. Simple, classic lasagna. Earlier, I remembered the great smoke smelling pizza of this place and took my family. My disappointment was great when I get the lasagna. When I had my first bite, it was ice cold!!! I called the server who said she would replace it immediately. The harm was done: I have received a cold lasagna. That only means one thing: it was destined to the reheating department. Five minutes later a new lasagna arrived to my table. Really hot; steam coming out of the pasta dish. Apprehensive, I grabbed my napkin to handle the plate, when I noticed something strange: the plate was cold, as it was the Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top of the lasagna. I cut a piece and tried: too hot, soggy runny, and sticky: it showed the dish had been heavily blasted with microwaves... a nuked lasagna in an wood oven Italian pizzeria!!! The disappointment was huge!

. They have a great deal every day between 5-6:30pm where you pay the amount the time you ordered your food. The service is wonderful too-very attentive! to me. The pizza is the best pizza in Miami. It's cooked just right and the cheese is so tasty. the foccaccia is good as well. I highly recommend if you are in the Gables. It's a little off the mile, but definitely worth it!

My brother and his girlfriend go on and on about this place since they have been dating and I finally went last night for his graduation dinner. First off, I must say that the staff is very friendly and kind. They have a nice full bar and they have weekly specials going on all the time. The food, especially the pizza is awesome; it was very light and not greasy at all. They have a wide variety of toppings and it is easily enough to split between two people. I do not know if they charge a sharing fee. Their specials are awesome, for last night it was any pizza or one of the original pastas with a wine/beer for $10.95. They also have a "count down the clock" special every weekday, the website explains it better. Also they have a 1/2 off every wine bottle on Wednesdays, I mean how awesome is that. Even with out the specials Spris is not expensive at all and I will for sure go back many more times. Enjoy!

Great place for a decently authentic Italian dinner. I had an Hawaiian Pizza and it was excellent. The crust is cracker thin and has that lightly sweet coal-fired taste. The only thing that wasn't satisfactory were the dinner rolls which were stale at best. Also, this place at capacity is really loud. If you are unfortunate enough to get a crying baby, there is no escaping it.

Love this place! Definitely a go-to spot if I'm not sure what I want for dinner and I'm in the Gables. The staff is extremely friendly. The food is sooooo good. Everything is reasonably priced. Great for dinner with friends or a first date!

The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because of their weekday special selling diner based on the time of day from 5-7pm. The food al seems a bit bland to me. Don't get me wrong it is not bad but it isn't exceptional either. With so many Italian restaurants in the Gables, I would never eat here at full price. If your too busy to cook and want a cheap meal it is worth stopping by during their diner special.

The worse service you will ever receive. You will be sitting there wondering WHEN they will bring your diet coke. You will swear you will never come back again. You will make your friends swear also. And a week later... you will be back waiting for your diet coke and your penne alla vodka lol. The food is good!

I originally went to The Mile for Archies but unfortunately, its closed down. My friend and I looked for an Italian restaurant and this was right in the corner. I ordered mussels and she ordered Fettucini Alfredo, the mussels tasted extremely fishy and the sauce was pure water the f.a. was dry and the complimentary bread was stale and not much of anything, the bruschetta was missing the olive oil... not the best experience. I will not be returning and I definitely will not recommend, plus, let's just say the food DID NOT sit well with me.

I come here a lot and also do takeout. It is a nice place to go if you want to get some basic pasta or pizza without going the chain restaurant route. I wouldn't give it an A for authenticity, though, but pretty decent and reasonably priced for sit-down, for takeout it is a bit on the high end. I love the spaghetti and meatballs and the ensalada mixta - I always come home with leftover salad. The toppings seem to be applied sparingly on the pizza. I have never had any problems with service as others have. Seems fine to me. They also have some interesting money saving events during the week. A sure bet if you want to eat Italian in the Gables.

  • Diana C.

Great wood-oven baked pizza. The pasta is just "ok", it doesn't have much flavor, and has too much garlic. The carpaccios and saltimbocca sandwiches are delicious. However, do not go during rush hour, because it turns to be an unpleasant experience. I have been to this place several times, and during lunch time there are only one or two waiters, while the restaurant is packed. You'll notice everyone around is just as frustrated as you are, because the service is not just bad, but it is non-existent. Unless you have a minimum of two hours to devote to a lunch, spare yourselves the frustration of eating in, and take out instead!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
